Product Description

Our wool nursing pads are made from two layers of the finest and softest Oeko Tex 100 certified Merino Wool.  They are larger than our Cotton and Hemp nursing pads at 5″ across.  Wool is highly absorbent and is naturally breathable so it is an excellent fabric for nursing pads.  It does not need to be washed with each use.  Simply let dry.  Wash cold and lay flat to dry.  Do not lanolize.

These nursing pads are another great product from BabeeGreens. They are soft, absorbent, and easy to care for (I lanolize them once a month). They slip into my nursing bras unnoticed, and keep me from leaking onto my clothing.

The wool nursing pads are great!! I only wish I had more :) I did accidentally throw them in the dryer and they shrank a considerable amount :( My fault of course. But they still work great and I can hardly feel them! I also use the bamboobies brand, but even with how comfortable they are they don’t compare to babee greens wool! Super absorbent, comfortable and not itchy in the least bit!

I have tried dozens of types of nursing pads in the course of breastfeeding two kids (including disposables, Bamboobies, Lanacare wool pads, etc.), and my hands down favorite system (at least since my supply has regulated) is to use these 100% merino pads for wetness protection or very light leakage (they can absorb a few drops no problem), plus some absorbent pads (such as the Babee Greens organic cotton/hemp pads, or others) between your breasts and the wool pads whenever you expect leakage to absorb the milk. I pop in an absorbent pad on the opposite side when feeding (the only time I really leak these days), then just wear the wool pads solo the rest of the day. The wool + absorbent pad system is very trim (doesn’t show through my bra), yet totally effective. I love that the absorbent and leak protection layers are separate, so I can wear the wool pads all day and just swap out the absorbent pads as needed. Buy 2-3 pairs of wool pads and say 12-24 pairs of absorbent pads (depending how much you leak), and you’ll be all set! If you sew and have a serger, you can also easily make the absorbent pads — my favorite combo is an organic cotton velour or organic bamboo velour top layer, and 1-2 organic cotton/hemp back layers, but any absorbent material will work! Just make them slightly smaller than the wool pads so there won’t be any wicking. But anyway, back to these wool pads — they’re fantastic, super soft and comfortable, don’t hesitate to buy them :)
